Disaster Preparedness

Disaster Preparedness
A personalized disaster preparedness plan identifies the services and resources you need to have on hand in case of a disaster or another community-wide emergency. Disaster preparedness is the advance preparation and planning needed to handle such an emergency, and it includes putting together a disaster plan that can be shared with loved ones, friends, helpers and care or service providers. Because you know yourself and your needs best, you are the best person to create your own personalized disaster plan. If you need assistance, ask a care provider or a loved one who supports you. Many organizations have developed excellent resources to assist persons with disabilities in planning for disasters and other community-wide emergencies. Below please find an assortment of these resources, as well as other useful information and links related to preparing for disasters and other community-wide emergencies.
