Waiver Information
On March 31, 2011 the Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) released a Request For Application (RFA) for the expansion of the 1915(b)(c) Medicaid waiver, which will have significant impact on the organizational structure and governance of the existing system. Information related to the waiver as well as OPC’s future plans will be posted on this site and updated regularly. If you have any questions, please submit them to Waiver Questions.

OPC and PBH will host meetings and trainings to provide members of our community the chance to learn more about PBH, the Medicaid Waivers and the transition plan for OPC. These meetings are open to consumers, family members, providers and stakeholders/community professionals. Please see below for more accurate details of each meeting.
OPC Waiver Trainings and Provider Meetings
Monday, February 27th
Provider Meeting - Provider Orientation to the PBH Network
Location: Sunrise Church: 1315 New Hope Trace, Chapel Hill, NC 27516
9:00 am to 4:00 pm
In this meeting, OPC and PBH staff will present overviews on the following topics: the Quality Management Review Process, contracts, and the use of ZixMail (secure e-mail).

CAP Part II Meeting
Location: Seymour Center: 2551 Homestead Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
For Individual and Family Members of those receiving CAP-MR/DD services.
Tuesday, March 20th
Provider Meeting
Location: Sunrise Church: 1315 New Hope Trace, Chapel Hill, NC 27516
9:00 am to 4:00 pm
This meeting is recommended for Directors and staff who have clinical operations responsibilities including treatment referrals, authorizations, and utilization management. This training is intended for providers of MH/SA services.
Friday, April 13th
Community Guide and Agency with Choice Training
Location: Northern Orange Board Room: 113 Mayo Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278
9:00 am to 4:00 pm
This training is designed to educate Provider agencies on how to provide Community Guide service under the Cardinal Innovations Waiver. It is recommended that participants have a working knowledge of the Cardinal Innovations Waiver or have attended the General Waiver Training for Providers offered on Wednesday, February 1st.
Wednesday, May 9th
Self- Direction Training for Providers
Location: Northern Orange Board Room: 113 Mayo Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278
9:00 am to 4:00 pm
This training is designed to educate Community Guide Agencies and Agencies with Choice on the specifics of these two Self Direction Models (Agencies with Choice and Employer of Record) available under the Cardinal Innovations Waiver. It is recommended that participants have a working knowledge of Community Guide Service or have attended the Community Guide Training for Providers offered on Friday April 13th.
Wednesday, June 13th
Family Self Direction Training
Location: TBA
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
This training is designed to educate Individuals and Family Members receiving Cardinal Innovations Waiver services on available Self Direction Options and how they can access these options if interested.
